Friday Comedy Fest....Live at Dean Castle
A Night of Top‑Class Comedy
Get ready for an unmissable night of laughs featuring four of Scotland’s finest comedy talents, combining razor‑sharp stand‑up, legendary TV pedigree and award‑winning hosting.
Raymond Mearns
One of the UK’s busiest and most respected circuit comedians, Raymond Mearns has been a regular fixture on the national and international comedy scene for years. With successful Edinburgh Fringe shows every year from 2011–2025 (excluding the Covid year), he’s renowned for his quick wit, fearless crowd work and endlessly fresh material.
Described by Frankie Boyle as “a genuine improvisational genius”, Raymond is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and devastatingly funny acts in the country.
Viv Gee
A true force of nature on stage, Viv Gee brings a huge personality, fearless honesty and massive laughs wherever she performs.
Finalist in BBC Open Mic Awards and So You Think You’re Funny, Viv has performed stand‑up across the globe from Los Angeles to Bangkok, and has hosted major events including T in the Park and Glasgow’s Hogmanay celebrations.
Her extensive TV and radio appearances include STV’s Lorraine Kelly’s Make Me Happier and BBC productions such as The Good, the Bad and the Unexpected, River City and The Comedy Underground.
Winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Comedy Award at the Scottish Comedy Awards, critics describe her as “Exceptionally funny and cathartic” (The Scotsman).
Phil Differ
A true legend of Scottish comedy, Phil Differ’s career spans over 35 years at the heart of the nation’s best‑loved shows. As a writer and producer, he helped shape classics including Scotch and Wry, Rab C. Nesbitt, City Lights and the iconic Only An Excuse?
After leaving the BBC to form The Comedy Unit, Phil went on to enjoy even greater success with Still Game, Chewin’ the Fat and Watson’s Wind Up. Now a highly respected stand‑up performer and storyteller, Phil also remains a popular speaker at sportsman’s dinners and Burns Suppers.
As Rory Bremner puts it: “I love Phil Differ — he’s the quiet genius of Scottish comedy.”
