Hue and Cry...Live at Dean Castle

Formed in 1984 by brothers Pat and Greg Kane, Hue and Cry are one of Scotland’s most enduring and beloved bands. Rising to prominence with their debut album Seduced and Abandoned (1987), the duo quickly made their mark with the Top 10 hit ‘Labour of Love’, followed by further chart success including ‘Looking for Linda’ and ‘Violently’.

Throughout the late ’80s and ’90s, albums such as Stars Crash Down, Showtime and Jazz Not Jazz cemented their reputation for soulful songwriting and polished, emotionally rich pop. In 2005, a standout appearance on ITV’s Hit Me Baby One More Time — featuring their acclaimed version of Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy In Love’ — introduced the band to a whole new generation of fans and propelled them firmly back into the spotlight.

With over two million records sold worldwide, Hue and Cry have continued to evolve, releasing a string of successful albums including Open Soul, Hot Wire, September Songs and Pocketful of Stones.
In 2019 they sold out Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand in hours, followed by extensive UK touring.

When live music paused in 2020/21, the band responded with their innovative ‘Live from Lockdown’ streaming concerts, watched by thousands of fans around the world, later released as Best of Lockdown (2022).

Returning to stages with both electro‑acoustic duo and full band shows, Hue and Cry thrilled audiences across the UK during their 40th Anniversary Tour in 2024, alongside the release of rare material from their personal archive. In 2025, Pat and Greg were honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Scottish Music Awards — a fitting recognition of an extraordinary career.

Now, the story continues. With new music on the way and a brand‑new album, Everybody, due in 2026, Hue and Cry remain as vital, relevant and captivating as ever.
