Arts Summer Camp Burns 800X600pixels

Rab’s Summer School: Killie Print Shop

Step into the world of Robert Burns and discover the magic behind his very first published book - the famous Kilmarnock Edition! Explore the Main Gallery exhibition, uncover fascinating objects from the Burns Collection and get up close to the historic printing press that brought his words to life.

We invite you to join us for an intensive four-day creative adventure where art, language and performance collide! Dive into the rich world of Scots words, experiment with quills and ink, and create your very own powerful scrolls inspired by Burns himself. Design bold silhouettes, build brilliant wearable costumes, and bring the first edition characters to life through drama, film and imaginative play around the Dick Institute and Castle.

We’ll hand print striking backdrops filled with Scots words and imagery, create eye catching artworks, and work together towards a fantastic final showcase for friends and family to celebrate everything we’ve made.

Get ready to design, print, perform and create in a week packed full of imagination and hands on fun!
Bring a packed lunch and snack each day to keep your creative energy flowing!
There are only 16 spaces available, so book early to avoid disappointment.

*We aim to ensure that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation and bursary and concessionary places are available for those who might not otherwise be able to attend. Please get in touch to enquire at arts@ayrshire360.com
*There will be a showcase on Thursday 30th July from 4–5pm to share the week’s work. Please ensure your child is able to attend.
