River Ayr Way Challenge 20th Anniversary
Celebrate 20 incredible years of one of Scotland’s most iconic endurance events! The River Ayr Way Challenge returns this September — a spectacular 40‑mile ultra marathon that takes runners on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Ayrshire.
Starting at the historic Glenbuck Loch, the route follows Scotland’s first source‑to‑sea pathway, winding through dramatic gorges, woodlands, open countryside and wildlife‑rich riverbanks before finishing in the coastal town of Ayr. It’s a test of grit, determination and pure adventure — and the perfect way to mark two decades of this much‑loved event.
