Morton Hall
Morton Hall, a striking B‑listed building located on the main street of Newmilns, dates back to 1896. Built from distinctive red Ballochmyle sandstone in a Jacobethan style, the hall blends historic character with practical, modern facilities.
This much‑loved community venue underwent an extensive renovation in 2022, transforming the building into a bright, modern library and events space. Fresh furniture, improved layouts and contemporary fittings have created an inviting environment perfect for reading, relaxing and taking part in community activities.
A major highlight of the refurbishment was the conservation and restoration of the building’s historic stained‑glass windows, expertly completed by Rainbow Glass to preserve an important piece of local heritage.
As a versatile hub for Newmilns events, the venue offers a choice of flexible, bookable spaces. The impressive Main Hall includes a large stage and seating for up to 200 guests, making it ideal for weddings, birthday parties, theatre performances, live shows, fitness classes, and large community gatherings. For smaller Newmilns community events, the public meeting room accommodates up to 25 people, providing a perfect setting for workshops, group sessions, craft activities and meetings. Ayrshire360 also offers hospitality and bar services which can be tailored to any event.
