Whitelee Windfarm
Whitelee Wind Farm is Europe’s largest onshore windfarm, located on Eaglesham Moor just 20 minutes from Glasgow. It’s a fantastic destination for visitors of all ages, offering a mix of outdoor adventure, renewable energy discovery and stunning views across the moorland.
At the Whitelee Visitor Centre, you can learn about renewable energy through hands‑on interactive exhibits, before heading outdoors to explore more than 130km of trails suitable for walking, cycling and other outdoor activities.
The windfarm also supports a remarkable 25km² habitat, home to wildlife including merlin and black grouse, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts.
Throughout the year, the centre runs a programme of activities and workshops for schools, families and community groups, helping visitors discover more about sustainability and green energy.
When it’s time for a break, the Café offers a varied menu and with large windows and an outdoor viewing deck, you can enjoy impressive views across the windfarm landscape.
